I am a professional trainer who possesses a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. I have practiced Martial Arts for over 15 years. I keep myself at a peak level of fitness and continually train with professional self-defence experts and high-ranking competitors. I believe there is always something to learn and by doing this I will keep my skills at a high level.
Since establishing my own club (Vale-Tudo Training Centre) I have liaised with the WA Police Department to improve their Empty Hand Control Techniques and have trained several members of the Tactical Response Group. My business partner and I also hold contracts with a number of high calibre Corporations within the Hospitality Industry, training their security personnel.

I have been training in empty hand techniques for just over 20 years and I possess a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. In 1999 I travelled to California where I spent time training with some of the world’s best self defense practitionerss and trainers (J.J. Machado and the Gracies). Upon returning home I worked my way up through the ranks and was awarded with a blue belt (at the time this was one of only a handful in Perth).
Nearly 3 years later I again travelled to the United States to enhance my skills; not long after I was awarded with a purple belt.
In 2003 I adapted the skills learnt in BJJ and kickboxing to suit the mixed martial arts style. In early 2006 James and I opened the Vale Tudo Training Centre to provide others with the opportunity to learn the skills of Vale Tudo. Our training philosophy centres on continuous learning, for ourselves, training partners and students. I look forward to travelling overseas in the near future to continue this learning process.
I was awarded my brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in July 2009 by Rodney King.
